TweetI’ve had a long day at work and a to do list that is a mile long waiting for me to complete when I get home. Sound familiar? On days like this, I find myself tempted to go through the closest drive though to make one thing on my list easy, dinner. Dinner is something that’s pretty important to me. It’s a time for the family to be together for at least a few minutes of the day. If it were up to my son, we’d have pizza every night in front of the TV. If it were up to me, we’d have a tasty, well balanced and nutritious meal with all of us together at the table. In this “perfect” world my kitchen would be a self cleaning kitchen too! I was determined to not let tonight be a fast food night. Pinterest to the rescue! I found a pin for Sesame Salmon Burgers with Dill Yogurt Sauce from Andie at canyoustayfordinner.com. Have you ever seen the show Semi-Homemade on Food Network? The premise of it is to use some pre-made ingredients in recipes to make them easier to prepare. Like using a store bought roasted chicken to make chicken salad instead of cooking the chicken yourself. I took the Semi-Homemade approach to this recipe. I had some frozen salmon patties in the freezer from Costco. ( I love that place) And I decided to spruce them up a bit with the dill yogurt sauce from the recipe. It only needed 4 ingredients: dill, Greek yogurt, garlic and lemon juice. I used

Pretty Paper Curls are Perfectly Pleasing
Tweet My mom’s birthday was just a few weeks ago and I had no idea what to get her. For the past couple of years, I’ve always included a handmade card in her gift but this year I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to give her something I made to reflect how much she means to me. Just before Pinterest became an addiction, I had discovered quilling. Quilling is the process of rolling strips of paper into shapes and using them to create art. One artist in particular, Yulia Brodskaya, just amazed me with the magic she creates out of paper. Here is just a small sample of her amazing work that can be found through Pinterest If you want to be more amazed click here to go directly to her website (but please come back). Since discovering Yulia and quilling, I’ve made a few attempts at it and had some decent success with a card here and there. But this is Mom’s birthday, I had to do something special! I had seen quilled letters around the internet, but I used a great tutorial from Kara at Craftastical.com. I didn’t cut my own strips of paper like Kara did,I already had with this quilling kit. I crossed my fingers and gave it a try. First I printed an N on to a plain sheet of paper. In Kara’s tutorial, she glued the the colored paper directly onto the paper that the letter is printed on. I was afraid the printing would

Pinterest Projects That Make Me Say ‘Ooh’ and ‘Yum’!
Tweet Hello, fellow Pinners! Today, I’m featuring two fabulous ladies that are Pinterest enthusiasts too. They’ve each been kind enough to share one of their Pinterest projects with me. First, I’d like to introduce you to Georgia. She was inspired by this pin… To create this cool piece of art….. Georgia’s pin linked her to a site called Lindsey Daniella Did It. There, Lindsey gives step by step instructions with some great photos to follow. She even breaks down the cost. It comes out to around $20, if you have to buy all of the supplies. I just love inexpensive art! Yes, I’m cheap and I’m proud! Georgia used the directions on the original post. It took her about 20 minutes to glue the crayons onto the canvas. She used a blow dryer to melt the crayons and that took about 20 minutes. She warns that the crayons were not as easy to control as she thought they’d be as they melted. (Lindsey used an embossing heat gun in her post. This may give a little more control since it produces less forced air than a blow dryer.) The overall project was as easy as she though it would be. I just love it when projects are as easy as they are described. Well, way to go Georgia, that’s… The next awesome Pinner I’d like to introduce you to is Tracy. She has tried a scrumptious looking recipe that she found through Pinterest from
