When I ask if Pinterest can be good for your health, I’m not talking about the latest diet or exercise routine, I’m talking about laughter.
Life gets hard for all of us sometimes and it has been scientifically proven that laughter has benefits. I put my nerd hat on and looked for research to prove it.
I found an article by William B. Strean, PhD published in the Canadian Physician Journal in 2009 that looks into the study of laughter in medicine. You can read the full article Laughter Prescription here.
Strean writes, “the act of laughter can lead to immediate increases in heart rate, respiratory rate, respiratory depth, and oxygen consumption”. He states benefits have been reported in many areas including oncology, rehabilitation, hospice and general patient care. That sounds good to me!
How does this relate to Pinterest? This is how….
These all came form my Cute and Funny Stuff Pintreest board. They may not always bring big belly laughs but a smile or chuckle is something right? Just like exercise, every little bit helps.
What is the funniest thing you’ve pinned? Help us all be a little healthier by sharing it with us in the comment section below. You could be saving a life
