Thank you Cynthia for these great and simple tutorials! I Love PicMonkey and your idea of keeping the personal photo to include my name/logo. Also, I did not realize I had not set up my site (The Nail Studio) as a business and have done that now. I also have another site for my Jewelry business and although I am able to connect Pinterest to Etsy, I am unable to verify or convert this site to a business setting. Id appreciate any thoughts you might have on this. Thanks again for all the great information you so generously share!
July 23, 2013 @ 9:45 am
Thanks so much for your feedback, I’m so glad you like the tutorials.
You do need to upload code to verify your site and since you don’t have access to those files on the Etsy site it can’t be verified. You could launch a Blogger blog that showcases your jewelry and verify that. It does require some work but you can start the blog for free. Here’s a tutorial that can walk you through. http://theslapdashsewist.blogspot.com/2012/11/how-to-verify-your-blogger-blog-on.html

I heard you talk about APE with Guy Kawasaki and would like to know if you have more information about how writers can use Pinterest to create buzz for a book launch. Thank you very much.
August 27, 2013 @ 5:33 pm
Thanks for stopping by. I’ve never had the privilege of speaking with Guy Kawasaki but am a big fan of his work. Maybe you’re thinking of Peg Fitzpatrick.
Authors can use Pinterest to promote their books and the tactic’s used would really depend on the goals and resources available to the author. You’ll find several blog posts and podcast episodes on the site that are generalized towards growing an audience on and driving traffic from Pinterest. I’d be happy to help you with your specific situation.

I watched your videos several times and a couple of them even more to get this right. I must say very helpful but have one problem and maybe you have the answer to it. My pinterst account in pinterest.com/baylanepromo I had it set up as
personal at first, then after coming across you and your VERY helpful advise I converted to business. However it still keeps my username at baylanepromo I have tried to put in baylanepromotions but will not take. Is it a limit on characters
or still something I am not doing Correct? Thanks Jerry Holmes

I’m so glad to hear that you’ve fount the videos helpful.
There is a character limit of 15 on Pinterest user IDs. Bummer.
Best of luck with your new Pinterest account and thanks for the question!

In the great words of Beavis and Butthead, “Cynthia Rules” Thanks for the tips. I found you on an interview you did recently just a few days ago with the English guy and 2 other ladies. I have been doing Content Marketing for a while but always the issue I have is being consistent and trying to use automation when it should be used but also one on one engagement!
February 12, 2014 @ 9:37 am
HA!!! I love that Beavis and Butthead reference! Thanks
It sounds like you have a great approach to content marketing. I agree, consistency can be a challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

My Aha moment – when I realized that I could put my name before my business for my Pinterest Account! I’m still known more by my name so hopefully that is going to make a big difference for my business.
I agree with your suggestions about linking to Facebook. Though a way around it is to apply controls at the time of posting the pin. My friends love good quotes and dog photos. Thank you Cynthia, for making me stop to reflect about my Pinterest profile.
