With Pinterest’s current features, the social capabilities are pretty limited. Those limitations didn’t stop Bethany Salvon from creating and hosting a live event on Pinterest. She called it Pin-Up Live! She hosted it with her sister Bridgette Salvon-Berndt and it was a huge success.

I just happend to stumble across this fascinating event on a Wednesday evening and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. This was so cool! They were asking questions through pins and people were responding! There was even a sponsor and a prize. I contacted them right away to find out all of the details.

I couldn’t wait to tell the world about the Pin-Up, so of course I wrote a blog post about it that you can read here.

  • Where the idea came from
  • How they got a sponsor
  • Details about pulling it all together
  • How Bridgette grew her Pinterest following to over 1 million

Here’s a look at one of the pins used during the event:

Pretty cool huh? Currently, The Pin-Ups are Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm EST.

Business are looking for new social media marketing methods and I think Bethany and Bridgette came up with a winner. What do you think about a live chat on Pinterest? Would you participate?  Would you host one?
